Weekly Review:

1. Fun – Score: 7

  • Highs: Coming down off the vacation high is always a little tough. We still had fun this week with the kids having friends over and going swimming. Really enjoyed being home again after a busy 10 days.
  • Lows: No real lows, just back to the “old grind” and feeling it.
2. Career – Score: 8

  • Highs: I had a great week back at work. I’m on a new project that kicked off while I was gone, so I spent time catching up. I also finally finished a task that I had been dragging my feet on…and then I got some major props for how well I did on it! It was a good work week and I’m inspired and motivated to do great work.
  • Lows: There were some moments this week where it was hard to get motivated since I just wanted to be back on vacation.
3. Contributions/Giving – Score: 2
  • Highs: Still working on how I can increase this score. May need to set this as a focus area soon.
  • Lows: See above.
4. Spirituality – Score: 2
  • Highs: I tried to get back into my morning meditation and it went well.
  • Lows: Need some direction in this area.
5. Finances – Score: 7
  • Highs: Feeling good in this area. Making some fun plans and looking forward to some home projects.
  • Lows: Budgeting is non-existent and I really need to make some headway on this.
6. Relationship – Score: 7
  • Highs: Our vacation time away was something we needed and it made this week a good week.
  • Lows: Had a good week but really need some date nights still. A date night would get this to a level 10.
7. Environment – Score: 4
  • Highs: Kept up with some cleaning and really felt motivated to finally add decorations and new furniture to our home after being on vacation.
  • Lows: I’m really saddened by how messy our house gets so quickly and how terrible I feel when we have visitors.
8. Family/friends – Score: 7
  • Highs: Still feeling good after all the family and friend time over vacation. Making more plans is also exciting!
  • Lows: I miss some family I haven’t seen in awhile so hopefully I can see them soon.
9. Personal Development – Score: 5
  • Highs: I finished another PD book this week and it was ok. I’m glad I’m keeping up with my reading but I need something new and exciting.
  • Lows: I haven’t been as motivated to read and take action on the books I’ve selected lately. I may be getting burned out on PD books and need to switch it up for a bit.
10. Health – Score: 8
  • Highs: Since I missed a few workouts while on vacation, I pulled some doubles this week and actually caught up and then finished the program. I’m so excited to start a new one tomorrow!
  • Lows: I’m still feeling burned out on macro counting, but I do want to keep focusing on getting enough protein, so I think I will ease back into it on the weekdays and try to aim for my protein goals.
Weekly Total: 57/100 (-6 points from last week)

I knew this week would be lower than last week since coming home from vacation is always a bit of a let down.

My first focus area for this week was Environment and I really didn’t make as much progress as I wanted. We had visitors this weekend so that made me do a little extra cleaning and I did almost finish all of my tasks, but the house still isn’t looking as clean as I want it.

My other focus area was Career and I knocked it out of the park this week. I had a big task that I had not really wanted to do and I was happy that I was able to delay it until after vacation. However, post-vacation me was not as happy with pre-vacation me. I did get the task done on Wednesday and I even received some big compliments for how well I did. That really motivated me to want to step it up this week, so that felt great.

My focus areas for this week are:

1. Environment – I need to come up with a decluttering plan so that I can finally get this area where I want it. My goal is to have a plan by the end of this week so that I can start following it and finally see progress. I also want to re-read “The Cozy Minimalist Home” and a Home Edit book to help me find what direction I want to take our home look and feel.

2. Fun – I had a ton of fun on vacation and really felt carefree and joyful. I want to really look at what we did and what I loved so much and try to find ways to incorporate my findings into my day to day life so I can find more joy when I’m not on vacation.

What are you working on this week? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below.
