Happiest of Thanksgivings!

Thanksgiving has come and gone, and miraculously, we successfully hosted our first Thanksgiving. We moved into our new home in May and decided we wanted to host our first Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. Typically we flip flop staying home and travelling each year as we have family out of state.
On the organizing front, to prep for the big day, I made a huge grocery list and knocked most of it out in one day.  I also did some googling for “Thanksgiving food lists” to catch anything that this newbie may have forgotten.  Surprisingly, we did not forget one thing and I was very proud of this fact!
I’m fairly surprised at how “easy” it really was.  For me, the hardest part was not any specific dish or the turkey, but instead just trying to get everything to be done at the same time.  Luckily my husband is the cook in the family, so I just had to put together the sides and do some management on what and when.
Next time we host, I hope to do a few things differently and to gradually improve my hostess abilities.  We had no decorations, so maybe I’ll do some “pinterest-ing” and get some good ideas and then hit the clearance sales.  Also, I’d like to try a new dish and branch out.  My green bean casserole is yummy, but I’d like to be more adventurous.  We went with some fairly basic appetizers, so a few new options would be great on that menu also.
I’m keeping this short, I just want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!  I’ll be back to my normal posting schedule this week.
Good luck Getting Organized, Girl!
