Weekly Review 1/28 – 2/3

Dates: 1/28/24 – 2/3/24

My weekly reviews are going to be shorter and to the point. I’m making this year about simplifying!

Wheel:

Weekly Review:

1. Fun – Score: 6

Highs: Had another basketball tourney this weekend. It’s been fun to watch my kid really grow to love basketball.

Lows: A nasty cold hit my husband, one of my two kids, and myself. Luckily one kid was spared, but it was still a rough week. Soooooo glad that is over.

2. Career – Score: 8

Highs: I have a long list of items I’m working on at work and that always makes me feel motivated.

Lows: With being sick, I really just had to focus on my main work tasks and let any training slip to the side. What else is new?

3. Contributions/Giving – Score: 3

Highs: Trying to donate when I can.

Lows: Still looking for more ways to help.

4. Spirituality – Score: 3

Highs: I have been reading “Living Untethered” before bed whenever I remember.

Lows: Need to get back to it consistently.

5. Finances – Score: 7

Highs: Doing well in this area. Not much needs to change.

Lows: No budget and have not synced my tracker in awhile.

6. Relationship – Score: 6

Highs: Our marriage has been doing well lately. We’ve been very busy with kid sports and activities so we really have to band together and tackle everything as a team.

Lows: Still need a date night.

7. Environment – Score: 6

Highs: I am still following the Declutter 365 calendar to declutter my whole house. I completed the whole January calendar of decluttering tasks. Plus, we got out the Christmas boxes! Baby steps, people, baby steps.

Lows: We still have our Christmas tree up BUT we have the storage boxes out and I put away one thing (a Santa cookie jar I don’t like). Eek.

8. Family/friends – Score: 7

Highs: We’ve been spending lots of time with family and friends at the kid sport gatherings.

Lows: We’ve been sick so we have been hiding out during the week.

9. Personal Development – Score: 7

Highs: I finished a book on boundaries and took notes so I feel like I’m finally getting back into the groove with reading.

Lows: Still too many books to read and never enough time.

10. Health – Score: 8

Highs: I have completed 10 weeks of a 12 week running program from the book “Run Less, Run Faster”. I am absolutely loving it. I am running paces that 10 weeks ago were super challenging for me and now don’t feel that intense. What?? I’m excited to finish this 12 week program and start one more 12 week program that will be a countdown to a big 12K race I’m going to run.

Lows: I still struggle to see the body composition changes I was hoping to see at this point. I worry I’m eating too many calories but I really need to fuel my runs. From what I understand, I think I need to focus on one main goal (lifting or running) but that is difficult for me to do.

Weekly Total: 61/100

The first month of 2024 has been a super busy one and it’s only going to get crazier. Almost every weekend has been a basketball tourney, we are starting up spring soccer with indoor practices and already discussing all the soccer tourney travel coming our way, and I am still finding a way to keep up with the decluttering challenge and all the goals I have for this year. Whew. I’m tired but I fall into bed every night feeling so good and accomplished.

My focus areas for this week are:

1. Environment – My house is looking a little disastrous with all our travel and busy-ness. I have decluttered but haven’t kept up with general cleaning.

2. Personal Development – Need to pick my next book and get to reading.

What are you working on this week? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below.
