Weekly Review:
1. Fun – Score: 6
- Highs: We had some fun with friends and family this week. Plus, we are planning and prepping for some upcoming plans and really looking forward to that.
- Lows: Still stressing out about not spending our weekends well and not finding more fun activities for the kids. Luckily, spring and summer are coming!
- Highs: I’m excited for some learning that I have to do for my job. I always love to learn, so the idea that I get paid to do it is exciting!
- Lows: Need to get a lot done before any fun plans can happen and I’ve been running into roadblocks.
- Highs: Still working on how I can increase this score. May need to set this as a focus area soon.
- Lows: See above.
- Highs: I’ve been having some trouble finding time to completely meditate so I’m finding that combining it with some other activities is helping. For example, I will meditate while I foam-roll my sore muscles, or I will meditate on the drive home after dropping off the kids. I focus on not “thinking” about anything and try not to let my mind wander. It’s been working well as I wasn’t able to find a full 15 minutes to just sit and do nothing.
- Lows: I still have a lot to do in this area so working on what my next steps are going to be.
- Highs: Doing well in this area but I would like to take some new big steps to improve our futures. Realizing how many years you have until your kids are (hopefully) out of the house on their own really gives me some things to consider.
- Lows: Some plans fell through and we had to re-plan which cost more money. We can manage it but it’s still disappointing.
- Highs: Looking forward to some upcoming plans together. Need some time out of this house since we both work from home.
- Lows: Not much quality time spent together this week, just busy busy busy.
- Highs: Knocked out all my cleaning tasks this week DURING the week (instead of saving/procrastinating them all for Saturday).
- Lows: The house really needs a deep clean and I haven’t found the time for that yet.
- Highs: Saw my family more this week and it was so nice!
- Lows: Still not enough family and friends time, but looking forward to more soon.
- Highs: This week I’m reading the book “Best Self” by Mike Bayer. It’s a great book and I’ve been actually doing the writing exercises (something I tend to skip) and it’s been very insightful.
- Lows: Still need to understand exactly what I’m looking to do for this area to get to a 10 and then make plans to get there
- Highs: Workouts and macro counting has been going well. I really see how much more protein I need so I’ve been focused on that. Only three more weeks of my current workout program so I’m looking forward to my next one.
- Lows: Still haven’t figured out what to do about fitting my workouts in around our travel, but working on it.
This week I focused on the “Relationship” area. It went fine but it was a really busy week. I think we are both looking forward to making some plans to get out of the house together. We had a good weekend this weekend with just hanging out and watching our favorite shows.
My other focus area was Spirituality. I have been having a hard time fitting in 15 minutes of meditation every day, so this week I tried to do some multi-tasking. I don’t normally like to try and do other things while I meditate, but this week I tried different options. The first one was foam-rolling while I meditate, which I think is a good option because I can focus on not thinking about anything and foam-rolling is very repetitive and requires no thought. The second option I tried was to completely clear my mind on the drive home after dropping my kids off at school. I still listened to music, but I didn’t let my brain go into overdrive thinking about all the things I need to do (like I normally do) and just cleared my mind. This set me up for a morning of clarity once I was home and started work.
My focus areas for this week are:
1. Environment – I have a lot I want to get straightened up around the house and setting this as my focus area may help me get going on my huge to do list.
2. Spirituality – Still going to focus on my meditation routine this week and I haven’t looked at The Untethered Soul again like I wanted to last week, so trying this again.
Have a Level 10 week!
