Can You Relate To My Easter Video Disaster?
Do you ever have one of those moments where it really hits you on how behind on your goals you really are?
I recently had one of those on Easter when the shame I felt almost stopped me from saving a memory. One of our Easter traditions is to hide Easter eggs around the house in the morning before the kids wake up. Once they are awake, they run around and find the Easter eggs. Normal Easter morning stuff, of course.
This Easter I followed my kids upstairs ready to take a video of their search when I turned the corner and saw the absolute disaster of a mess in the camera view.
I immediately paused the video. For a moment, I considered not taking any more video so that the mess would not be captured forever in our video memories.
Ugh.
I forced myself to continue the video and I am so happy that I did. From this, I’ve learned two lessons.
First, I need to give myself more grace to take those videos no matter what the state of the house is.
Second, I want to use this situation as motivation to focus on my decluttering projects.
Have you ever had one of those moments that stops you in your tracks and forces you to see how little progress you’ve made on a goal?
