Time For Some Grace
At the beginning of this year, I gave myself the goal of posting two blog posts a week. I had been writing on and off without any consistency, and I knew that it was time to shit or get off the pot, so to speak
This week, my husband was out of town for work, I had to work still (of course), my kids had football and soccer practices everyday but one, and I had two presentations to prepare for.
Usually my husband and I split the driving duties to and from school and sports, but with him away, there was one day I made the trip into town four times. Since it’s about a 15 minute drive each way and we are having some major road construction done on the main road, four trips in on day is a Pain. In. The. Ass.
Especially when you need to fit work and meals and schoolwork and bath time in between.
Needless to say, I was a grumpy mama by the end of the week. On Friday, my kids really wanted to go the hometown football game to hang with their friends. This major introvert, with her extroverted husband still out of town and super tired from a long week, wanted desperately to snuggle into the couch and not get up for a good long while.
I rallied and we went. That’s what us mamas do, right? The kids had fun and I got my couch time later.
What is the point of all this? The point was to get a blog post done and follow through with my goals. Even if it’s not the best or longest blog post, I at least got something posted. After the week that I had, this is quite the accomplishment.
And it was also to remind you that even when we are tired, we can still do what are hard things to us, and that’s what we do. As mamas.
What’s your hard thing this week?
