Weekly Review:

1. Fun – Score: 7

  • Highs: It was a fun week with soccer and baseball. Our kids had friends over this weekend and it was just a busy, fun week. Spring sports are starting to get busy (soccer and baseball) so we are about to have even more fun.
  • Lows: It’s SNOWING here, and has been on and off all week. Hard to plan any outdoor fun or to enjoy anything outdoors, like we were doing this time last year. Ugh.
2. Career – Score: 8

  • Highs: I received some really awesome news this week at work. Before the pandemic, I was going into the office 5 days a week and the only time I really worked from home was if there was some exception (sick kid, needed to be home for utility person). When the pandemic hit and everything shut down in March of 2020, I was able to work from home and I have been for the last two years. What the company was going to do moving forward has always been up in the air and last I heard, we were going to need to be in the office a few days a week. However, this week I was told I now get to choose if I want to return to office or remain completely remote. Of course I chose remote, so it’s official! I have wanted to work remote since the moment I learned it could ever be an option. I’m so excited!
  • Lows: Not much on the lows side this week, just a LOT of work to do!
3. Contributions/Giving – Score: 2
  • Highs: Still working on how I can increase this score. May need to set this as a focus area soon.
  • Lows: This area is really dragging down my overall score, but I can’t seem to find any time to improve it.
4. Spirituality – Score: 2
  • Highs: No real highlights for this area this week.
  • Lows: I haven’t been able to focus on this area either and it is also driving my weekly score down, into the ground, with lots of rain (boom boom boom).
5. Finances – Score: 7
  • Highs: We made some good decisions with our retirement accounts this week! Yay for adulting!
  • Lows: I have so many “money” books I want to read and no time to read them. “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” is sitting in my pile of library books, staring at me. Ugh.
6. Relationship – Score: 6
  • Highs: I told hubby that I would be permanently working from home (he also works from home) and he was happy about the idea, so that’s a plus!
  • Lows: Still need some date nights to get this to a level 10.
7. Environment – Score: 6
  • Highs: My kids had a friend over this weekend so that, of course, spurs me to get some extra cleaning done, so I’m feeling good about that.
  • Lows: I finished the book “The Home Edit Life” and now I really want so much of my home to change. Not sure if it’s a good idea reading those books or not!
8. Family/friends – Score: 6
  • Highs: Saw some family for a kid’s soccer game this week. Looking forward to more family visits for the holiday!
  • Lows: I miss some family I haven’t seen in awhile so hopefully I can see them soon.
9. Personal Development – Score: 7
  • Highs: I’m knocking out a lot of good books lately and I am trying my best to implement what I’m reading. Lots of book reviews to come!
  • Lows: Need to make sure I’m actually making changes from all the books I read.
10. Health – Score: 7
  • Highs: My workouts are going great! I also just finished a book called “ROAR” that focuses on nutrition and exercise specifically for women. This book was really eye-opening in how so many things can affect a woman differently than a man due to hormones and other things. Excited to try some of the things I learned from that book.
  • Lows: I have a big race coming up that I signed up for in February or March and I haven’t been able to run one time this year due to snow. I’m worried about how this race is going to go.
Weekly Total: 58/100 (+2 points from last week)

I have to say, the snow we’ve been getting has really been affecting several different areas. I can’t get my runs in that I planned to do to prep for a race coming up. I don’t have a treadmill. Even though I work out 6 days a week, I still need to get my body back into that movement. Also, the kids have outdoor practices and it’s just not fun to play soccer or baseball in the snow or in high wind when it’s 30 degrees. It’s just feeling like December/January and it’s bringing me down.

My first focus area was Environment last week. I did some extra cleaning before we had company which helped, but I really need to get this place looking better and feeling cleaner.

My other focus area was Spirituality. I did nothing in this area this week, and quite frankly forgot it was even a focus area. Ugh. It’s frustrating because I know if I could improve this area, I would really improve my total scores, which is the goal: Level 10 in every area!

My focus areas for this week are:

1. Environment – I need to finally make some decisions on what I want to do with our home and how I want it to look. I need a plan. Something to execute on where I can check things off and know I’m making progress.

2. Spirituality – I said last week I could do something as simple as brainstorming new ideas for this area. I’m putting it here again to try to remind myself to focus on it.

What are you working on this week? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below.
